02/02/2011: Vice President Binay expresses support for Filipino veterans during meeting with House Committee Chair on Veterans Affairs

02 February 2011, Washington, D.C., Vice President Jejomar C. Binay (center) discusses veterans issues with the Chair of the House Committee on Veterans Affairs, Representative Jeff Miller of Florida (right), at the fringes of the National Prayer Breakfast held at the Washington Hilton. Accompanying Vice President Binay is Ambassador Willy C. Gaa (left). Chairman Miller said that he hears about Filipino veterans every year and that he has always been supportive of their cause. He said he could not say enough about the contribution of the Filipino veterans of World War II and they thank the Philippines and the Filipino veterans for that. During his recent trip to the Philippines, Chairman Miller visited Corregidor and the American Battle Memorial & Cemetery in Makati.  He also inquired about the Veterans Hospital. Chairman Miller also happens to be this year’s Co-Chair of the 2011 National Prayer Breakfast.
