03/02/2011: 02/03/2011: Philippine Embassy participates at the annual Santo Nino/Ati-Atihan Festival in Maryland
29 January 2011, Washington, D.C., Minister Ariel Rodelas Penaranda (7th from left) represented the Philippine Embassy at the Santo Nino/Ati Atihan Festival in Maryland, which is organized annually by the Philippine American Community Partnership (PACP) Foundation. Standing to Mr. Penaranda’s immediate left is his wife, Mrs. Rowena Penaranda. The celebration underscored the Filipino tradition of paying homage to the Santo Nino during the month of January, and highlighted the PACP Foundation’s humanitarian activities through the conduct of medical and dental missions in underprivileged communities in the Philippines. Missions have already been conducted by the Foundation, in collaboration with doctors and dentists based in the Philippines, in 2004, 2005, 2008 and 2010.
