04/04/2011: New PH Envoy Arrives in U.S.

04 April 2011, Washington DC. Ambassador-designate Jose L. Cuisia Jr. arrived in Washington, D.C. last April 2 to assume his duties as the Philippines’ top diplomat in the United States. Mr. Cuisia was appointed by President Benigno S. Aquino III to the post on 30 November 2010 and confirmed by the bicameral Commission on Appointments on 10 February 2011.
In his first day in office, Ambassador-designate Cuisia immediately met with the officers of the Embassy to discuss pressing bilateral concerns. Mr. Cuisia will also soon be meeting with the Philippine Consuls General in the U.S. to set a clear vision for the Embassy and Consulates and apprise them of the Aquino administration’s priority issues and programs.
