14/06/2011: Ambassador Cuisia Meets Top Defense Official

14 JUNE 2011, WASHINGTON DC. Philippine Ambassador to the United States Jose L. Cuisia, Jr. met recently with Vice Admiral William E. Landay III, Director of the Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA).  The DSCA is the U.S. Defense Department’s main focal point for security cooperation.

Ambassador Cuisia highlighted the excellent working relationship among agencies of the two countries in exploring avenues for better security cooperation, address common concerns and advance mutual interests.  He cited the assistance provided by the U.S. to modernize the Philippine military.

Admiral Landay lauded the Philippine government’s efforts to enhance its military capabilities, geared towards confronting various armed threats and contributing towards nation-building.  He remarked that the U.S. stands ready to assist the Philippines in its defense needs.  END
