13/07/2011: Ambassador Cuisia Meets with Congressman Manzullo of Illinois
13 JULY 2011, WASHINGTON, D.C. Philippine Ambassador to the United States Jose L. Cuisia, Jr. briefed Representative Donald A. Manzullo on Philippines-United States relations during a meeting on July 12, 2011. Representative Manzullo is Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Subcommittee on Asia and the Pacific and is the Republican Representative for Illinois’s 16th congressional district. He is a principal co-sponsor of a House resolution calling for a peaceful and collaborative resolution of maritime territorial disputes in the South China Sea and its environs and other maritime areas adjacent to the East Asian mainland.
Ambassador Cuisia and Representative Manzullo also spoke about current issues in the Asia-Pacific region. Ambassador Cuisia also briefed the congressman on the benefits of the SAVE Our Industries Act which would be gained by both workers in the Philippines and the United States. END.
