Ambassador Gaa Meets with Mayor Carl Brewer Of Wichita, Kansas; Delivers Speech On âDoing Business with The Philippinesâ During Asean Trade Conference


28 May 2010. Philippine Ambassador to the United States Willy C. Gaa met with Mayor Carl Brewer of Wichita, Kansas, who presented a copy of the City’s “Proclamation on the 2010 World Trade Week Honors ASEAN.” The ASEAN Trade Conference was organized by the World Trade Council of Wichita, Inc. last 19-21 May 2010.

Ambassador Gaa made a presentation on “Doing Business with the Philippines,” focusing on key sectors such as business process outsourcing (BPO), biofuels, oil & gas exploration, agribusiness and tourism. The Ambassador attended meetings with senior corporate executives from Hawker Beechcraft, Cessna, Bombardier Learjet, Spirit Aerosystems, Cargill, LSI, Tramco, ICM, Pioneer Worldwide, among others.

The Ambassadors and representatives from the Embassies of Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam also attended the conference. Special Trade Representative Glenn Peñaranda of the Philippine Trade and Investment Center (PTIC) in Chicago, likewise, presented the trade and investment opportunities in the Philippines during the conference.
