28/09/2011: Potomac Exchange Honors Ambassador Cuisia

28 September 2011, Washington, D.C. – Philippine Ambassador to the United States Jose L. Cuisia, Jr. was honored in a private luncheon yesterday at The Hay Adams Hotel by members of the Potomac Exchange, a limited membership organization of executives from leading global firms. For the past 25 years, the Potomac Exchange has hosted ambassadors new to Washington, DC.

Ambassador Cuisia discussed, among other key issues and programs, the global economy, the increasing international confidence in the Philippines, and strategic opportunities to invest in the country as well as the Open Government Partnership and the Partnership for Growth initiatives.

“Good governance is good economics,” Ambassador Cuisia echoed President Aquino’s central message on the Philippines’ improving macroeconomic performance.

Ms. Jane Cicala, President of the Potomac Exchange, thanked the Ambassador for sharing the good news and recent developments about the Philippines and observed that the Embassy “had a remarkable week” in view of the recent visit of President Aquino and the participation of the Philippine economic managers in the 2011 World Bank-IMF Annual Meetings.

Participating in the private luncheon forum were senior executives from Coca Cola, GE, Lockheed Martin, Bank of America, HSBC, IBM, Bechtel Corp., 3M, Mitsubishi International Corporation, Sikorsky, Burns and Roe Enterprises, TE Connectivity, and the General Manager of The Hay Adams Hotel. END
