07/10/2011: Ambassador Cuisia to Meet with Filipino Communities in Observance of Filipino American History Month
October 7, 2011, Washington, DC – In observance of Filipino American History Month this October, Philippine Ambassador to the US Jose L. Cuisia, Jr. will travel to different parts of the country to meet and dialogue with the Filipino community.
The Ambassador will be the keynote speaker at the 42nd anniversary gala of Katipunan – Filipino American Association of Maryland which will take place on October 8 at Towson, Maryland. On October 14, Ambassador Cuisia will be in Mullica Hill in New Jersey to meet the Filipino community leaders in Central and South Jersey and Philadelphia.
The Ambassador will be in Atlanta, Georgia on October 27-28 to deliver an address at the Georgia Tech University and meet with the Consular Corps of Atlanta, Coca Cola Company Executive Vice President Mr. Irial Finan, the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta Chairman and President Dennis Lockhart and the Filipino community in metropolitan Atlanta.
On October 29, Ambassador Cuisia will speak at the 8th Annual Banquet Dinner of the National Federation of Filipino American Associations (NaFFAA) Michigan Chapter in Troy, Michigan. Before the dinner, the Ambassador will engage the Filipino community leaders of Michigan in a town hall meeting to discuss various issues of interest to the Philippines and the Filipino American community.
In his first five months as Philippine Ambassador to the US, Ambassador Cuisia has met with the Filipino communities in metropolitan Washington, DC, San Francisco, Las Vegas and New York. As he meets with the vibrant and dynamic Filipino organizations around the country, the Ambassador will congratulate them on their significant contributions in the history and progress of the United States and seek their support on Philippine issues. -- END
