13 October 2011, Washington DC. Philippine Ambassador to the United States Jose L. Cuisia, Jr. hosted a reception and briefing last night at his residence for members of the Wharton Club of Washington, D.C. The briefing focused on the multi-faceted and dynamic relations between the Philippines and the U.S. Guests were also treated to a sumptuous assortment of native dishes and beverages.
Ambassador Cuisia conveyed his gratitude for the warm welcome extended by members of the Wharton Club upon his arrival in Washington to assume his position as ambassador. He noted that the event serves as an opportunity to reach out to a special segment of the Metropolitan D.C. population who may serve as interlocutors for Philippine interests with those who influence the U.S. policy agenda.
Ambassador Cuisia finished his Masters in Business Administration-Finance at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania in 1970 as a University Scholar. He was a recipient of this year’s Joseph Wharton Lifetime Achievement Award, which is bestowed to those who have demonstrated exceptional leadership in their career.
The Wharton Club of Washington, D.C., founded in 1968, provides a forum in the Nation's Capital area for alumni and alumnae of the Wharton School with resources for networking, professional growth and social and cultural events. END
