14/11/2011: PH Embassy Washington DC Registered Overseas Absentee Voters in Buford, Georgia
The Philippine Embassy in Washington DC successfully conducted a mobile consular service in Buford, Georgia on 05 November 2011 at the multi-purpose rooms provided by RV Industries through its sales manager Robert Santiago.
The Embassy consular team was assisted by Honorary Consul General Raoul Donato with volunteers from the Filipino-American organizations in Atlanta, Georgia.

Consul General Nolasco administered the oath of allegiance to 27 former Filipinos who reacquired their Philippine citizenship under RA 9225, the Dual Citizenship Law of 2003. Before the oath taking ceremony, he briefed the audience on the benefits of dual citizenship. He appealed to them and to their families and friends to register as overseas absentee voters, and be responsible citizens of the Philippines and the United States by petitioning their respective congressmen and senators in the US to support and co-sponsor the Save our Industries Act, a bill that will allow the export duty-free to the United States of Philippine apparel made of U.S. fabrics and aims to increase jobs and exports income for both countries. A total of 78 individuals submitted petition letters for the Save Act.

The team processed on-site one hundred eleven (111) electronic passport applications, reports of births and marriages and notarization/authentication of legal documents.
