29/02/2012: Ambassador Cuisia Meets with Representative Alexander of Louisiana

29 February 2012, Washington DC. Philippine Ambassador to the United States Jose L. Cuisia, Jr. met with Representative Rodney Alexander on February 17, 2012. Representative Alexander is the Republican representative for Louisiana’s 5th congressional district and is Vice Chair of the Subcommittee on Labor, Health and Human Services, Education, and Related Agencies in the House Committee on Appropriations.
Representative Alexander made an official visit to the Philippines last January 13-15 as part of the congressional delegation led by Representative Hal Rogers, Chair of the House Committee on Appropriations. The objective of the visit was to examine more closely the strategic and economic relations between the Philippines and the United States and to find ways to strengthen them further to benefit both Filipino and American constituents. On the Save Act, he said that he would “do whatever we can” to support the bill. He also expressed interest in joining the Philippines-United States Friendship Caucus.
Representative Alexander also sits with the Subcommittee on Agriculture, Rural Development, Food and Drug Administrations, and Related Agencies (Agriculture). END
