Panabo City Local Officials Call on Ambassador Gaa

Local government officials from Panabo City, Davao del Norte called on Amb. Willy C. Gaa on July 9, 2010 after their 2-day visit of aquaculture laboratories, Maryland farms and USDA officials to develop contacts and learn more about available technologies and best management farm practices that can boost the city's agricultural programs. The city's 1,075 hectare-mariculture park was showcased to a USDA-led business delegation in October 2009. The delegation plans to tie up with experts they have met on crab re-stocking/production and natural resources conservation programs. They would also like to explore further cacao-intercropping with coconut and banana stalks processing for organic fertilizers or specialty paper among other interests.
