TRINIDAD AND TOBAGO OUTREACH. Welfare Officer Saul De Vries speaks on the programs and benefits of the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) to overseas Filipino workers in Trinidad and Tobago at the Consular Outreach Mission on 24 August 2013 while Labor Attache Luzviminda Padilla (seated far right) looks on.  A Financial Literacy Seminar was also held throughout the day as part of the Philippine Overseas Labor Office’s mandate to provide overseas Filipinos with information on the proper management of their earnings in preparation for their eventual return to the Philippines.  Ms. Susana Barkley, an accountant by profession and member of the Filipino community, served as resource person. TRINIDAD AND TOBAGO OUTREACH. The Philippine Embassy Consular-Labor team, headed by Consul Arlene Magno, called on Labor Permanent Secretary Carl Francis at the Ministry of Labor and Micro Enterprise Development on 23 August 2013, a day before the conduct of the Consular Outreach Mission in Trinidad and Tobago.  At the meeting, Secretary Francis noted that there are no outstanding issues or problems with Filipino workers in Trinidad and Tobago.  He also recognized the Philippine leadership in migration and sought its support for the evolving directions that migration was taking in today’s times.  Earlier in the day, the Consular-Labor team had met with Minister of Health Fuad Khan and Chief of Immigration Keith Sampson.
