22/12/2014: Ambassador's Christmas Message
On behalf of the men and women of the Embassy of the Philippines in Washington, D.C., I wish to extend my holiday greetings to our kababayans in the United States and the Caribbean.
Christmas is also the season to give thanks. I am grateful for your continued support as we continued to pursue policies that promoted the three pillars of the Philippine foreign policy – promoting national security, enhancing economic diplomacy and protecting the rights of Filipinos overseas.
Further, I am particularly heartened to see the Filipino Community join hands in responding to the needs of our kababayans who were affected by Typhoon Haiyan. Our successful fundraising initiative here in Washington, D.C., “After the Storm,” deeply demonstrates what we, as a community, could do if we all work together.
Generosity, humility and love towards others summarize the real essence of Christmas. We have proven to the international community that unity in the Philippines is indeed one of its kind. I look forward to continue deepening the ties that bind all of us together as one country and one people.
May you have a Blessed Merry Christmas and a Prosperous New Year!
