16 March 2018

JS Productions President Jerry Sibal presents Explore Islands Philippines Expo to Washington, D.C. audience on 15 March 2018 at the Philippine Embassy Chancery Annex.

WASHINGTON, D.C.— The Philippine Embassy and the US-Philippines Society hosted on 15 March 2018 a preview of the Explore Islands Philippines Expo, which is being organized by JS Productions Inc., with the support of the Philippine Department of Tourism (DOT) and Tourism Promotions Board Philippines (TPB), and to be staged at the New York City Grand Central Terminal in May.

Explore Islands Philippines Expo is envisioned to bring together the shakers and movers in tourism and investments from the Philippines and the United States. It will showcase the Philippine agenda in tourism, tourism infrastructure, manufacturing, logistics, business process management, infrastructure, agri-business, and medical tourism.

“I am confident that the Expo will successfully present the Philippines as a premier tourism and investment destination, and New York certainly offers an unparalleled international stage to bring people together whether as prospective tourists or investors,” Philippine Ambassador to the United States Jose Manuel G. Romualdez said in a statement after he was briefed on the project by JS Productions President Jerry Sibal.

“We also hope that the Expo will encourage US-based Filipinos and Americans to join the 12th Ambassadors’ Tour and see firsthand why the Philippines continues to be one of the best value travel destinations in the world and one of the most dynamic economies in Asia,” Ambassador Romualdez added.

The 12th Ambassadors' Tour (http://ambassadorstour2018.com) offers fun and excitement for every type of traveler, may they be foodies, shoppers, nature-lovers or history buffs. Participants may choose to go with the Oslob and Farm Tour combination or Suroy-Suroy and Balicasag Island combination.

In the presentation by the JS Productions creative team to a capacity audience from the media; diplomatic and business communities; and fashion, travel, and entertainment stakeholders, Mr. Sibal remarked that Explore Islands Philippines is his and partner realtor Edwin Josue’s way of giving back to their homeland by showcasing the best that the Philippines has to offer in trade, investments, and tourism, in New York City.

“We appreciate the support of the Philippine Government, particularly the Department of Tourism and the Tourism Promotion Board. We look forward to working also with the various Philippine trade and investment agencies, as well as with the US-Philippines Society, on this worthy project. It is our goal to connect individuals, companies and investment groups in the US with relevant public and private offices in the Philippines to help facilitate and support economic development in the country.  We would also like to help bring American and Filipino American tourists to the Philippines,” Mr. Sibal said.

“I think that the organizers were able to reach a diverse Washington area audience, generating interest and support for the exciting Explore Islands Philippines business, tourism, and cultural Expo in New York City this May,” observed Mr. Hank Hendrickson, Executive Director of the US-Philippines Society, who moderated the preview event. The Society is one of the early supporters of the Expo.

Explore Islands Philippines will take place on 9 – 12 May 2018 at the Vanderbilt Hall East of the Grand Central Terminal, with a culminating black-tie event at Cipriani Hall on the evening of May 12. More information will be available at www.exploreislandsphilippines.com. ###
