08/08/2009: Philippine Embassy Conducts Consular Outreach Program in Orlando, Florida
The Philippine Embassy in Washington, D.C., in cooperation with the Council for Filipino American Organizations in Central Florida, conducted its first-ever consular outreach program in Orlando, Florida on Saturday, 08 August 2009, from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM at the Marriott Downtown Orlando.
The consular team processed on-site 102 applications for machine-readable passports and registered 113 new overseas absentee voters (OAV). Consul General Domingo Nolasco also administered the oath of allegiance to 58 naturalized Americans who reacquired their Philippine citizenship. Prior to the oath-taking, Consul General Nolasco briefed the participants and their families on the benefits of dual citizenship and encouraged them to vote as absentee voters.
