30/09/2010: Ambassador Gaa Lauds Appointment of Filipino-Americans to Advisory Body

Philippine Ambassador to the United States Willy C. Gaa welcomed US President Barack Obama’s intention to appoint two Filipino-Americans, Rozita Villanueva Lee and Hector L. Vargas, Jr., as Members to the President’s Advisory Commission on Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders.

“President Obama once again recognizes the many invaluable contributions of Filipinos to American society by announcing his intent to appoint Mrs. Lee and Mr. Vargas, two prominent members of the Filipino-American community, to key advisory positions,” Ambassador Gaa said.

“I am confident that they can further contribute to advancing the welfare of Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders, as shown by their steadfast commitment to equality and dedication to public service,” Ambassador Gaa added.
