25/04/2009: Philippine Economic Management Team Meets MCC Top Officials on RP MCA Compact Bid for 2010

25 April 2009 – The Philippine Economic Management Team composed of Finance Secretary Margarito B. Teves (4th from R), Budget and Management Secretary Rolando G. Andaya, Jr, (R-L) and Socio-economic Planning Secretary Ralph G. Recto met with top MCC Officials led by Acting CEO Rodney Bent (2nd from L) to discuss the Philippines’ bid for Compact Status in 2010. Also in photo are Ambassador Willy C. Gaa (3rd from R) and Country Director and Transaction Team Leader for the Philippines, Troy Wray (L).

The Team, also joined by GRP-MCC Point of Contact (POC) for the Policy Improvement Process (PIP), Ambassador Cesar Bautista, DOF Undersecretary Rosalia de Leon and Economic Officer Angelito Nayan, reaffirmed the Philippines’ commitment to the MCC process of addressing poverty reduction through economic growth and conveyed the Philippines’ readiness to enter into a Compact partnership as soon as possible.

Acting CEO Bent was joined in by MCC Vice President for Compact Development, John Hewko; Acting Vice President for Policy and International Relations (PIR, Sherri Kraham; Operations Director Jerry Dutkewych; Director Stacey Rhodes, and PIR Associate Director Bradley Parks. END.
