Ambassador Gaa Calls on USDA Secretary; Discusses Expanding Agribusiness Partnerships

14 April 2009 – Philippine Ambassador to the US Willy C. Gaa (far left) called on US Department of Agriculture Tom Vilsack (far right), the 30th USDA Secretary. Ambassador Gaa reiterated the Philippine Government’s commitment to continued and revitalized agricultural cooperation with the United States. Both Governments are optimistic in expanding agribusiness partnerships in biofuels, high value commercial crops and processed foods, and agriculture equipment and postharvest. Agriculture Attache Victoriano Leviste and Assistant Agriculture Attache Josyline Javelosa joined Ambassador Gaa at the meeting. Secretary Vilsack was joined in by ((R-L) Undersecretary for Farm and Foreign Agricultural Services (FAS) Mr. James Miller; FAS Deputy Administrator Patricia Sheikh; and FAS Staff, Ms. Dorsey Luchok.
