26/03/2009: Philippine Embassy Conducts Consular Outreach Program in South Florida
WASHINGTON, D.C. – On 21-22 March 20009, a team headed by Consul General Domingo Nolasco conducted a Consular Outreach Program in South Florida in cooperation with Philippine Honorary Consul General Angelo Macatangay to administer various consular services to individuals in West Palm Beach and Fort Lauderdale.
During the two-day event, 67 Naturalized Americans reacquired their Philippine citizenship; 71 registered for Overseas Absentee Voting (OAV); and over 60 submissions were received for Passport Application and Registration of Marriage. The team is also expected to host an OAV registration and oath-taking of dual citizens in Miami and Orlando.
The next scheduled consular outreach programs of the Embassy are as follows: 28 March 2009 in Baltimore, Maryland for school teachers; 3-5 April 2009 in Tampa, Florida during the PhilFest at the Bayanihan Arts and Events Center; and 18 April 2009 in Virginia Beach, Virginia at the Philippine Cultural Center.
