13/03/2009: Ambassador Gaa Awards Legislative Staffers and Filipino American Organizations for Role in Filipino Veterans Victory
13 March 2009 - At a reception held at the Philippine Embassy on 27 February 2009, Philippine Ambassador to the United States Willy C. Gaa awarded certificates of appreciation to some legislative staffers in the U.S. Congress in recognition for their hard work behind the scenes in the struggle for equity for Filipino veterans and in support of their respective principals who were instrumental in the passage of a provision granting recognition and benefits to Filipino WWII veterans.
Ambassador Gaa likewise awarded certificates of appreciation to the various leaders and representatives of Filipino American community and veterans organizations that have been very active in the campaign to secure justice for the Filipino WWII veterans. END.
